Kenora & Area

Housing Services administers rent-geared-to-income assistance [subsidized housing] to eligible households in the Kenora District Services Board (KDSB). The district includes: City of Dryden, City of Kenora, Township of Pickle Lake, Municipality of Sioux Lookout, Municipality Machin, Township of Ignace, Township of Ear Falls, Municipality of Red Lake, Township of Sioux Narrows/Nestor Falls, Unincorporated Areas DoKURA. There are 1130 units in the district of which 528 are owned by the KDSB, 560 are owned by Non-Profit Providers and 42 rent supplement units. KDSB and Rent Supplement units are rent-geared-to-income only. Non-Profit Providers offer both market rent and rent-geared-to-income. (source)


Eligibility Requirements


At least one person of your household must be 16 years of age or able to live independently.

Each member of your household must be a Canadian Citizen, Landed Immigrant or have Refugee Claimant Status.

You can not owe rent arrears to any federally, provincially or municipally funded housing provider.

You will be required to sell any property within six months.
